Divergence over Convergence in a New World Order

More dystopian perspectives and programming for the youth of today

"You're different. You don't fit into a category.
They can't control you. They call it Divergent.”

The programming continues with another recent movie ‘Divergent’ directed by Neil Norman Burger who gave us the pseudo-documentary Interview with the Assassin (2002), the period drama The Illusionist, and the 2011 thriller Limitless. The movie is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by the American author Veronica Roth.

I wanted to comment on this movie purely in relation to the ‘dystopian themes’ contained within its plot, as once again we have the classic ‘programming’ of a mainly young audience, to not only accept a future based on massive surveillance, but to ‘expect’ a possible future scenario that is becoming more obvious as Hollywood churns out these types of films. I am not saying Roth has an agenda, I doubt it, but the film has some common themes found in other ‘best seller’ novels (probably because its sells books?). This review will be a shorter one in comparison to the usual dissection of films, mainly due to the simplicity of the material inside this story.

The movie is set in a post apocalyptic Chicago (Roth’s home) hundreds of years after a ‘world war’ that has devastated and changed the surface of the planet. Oh what a surprise, another apocalyptic war. It’s another movie that is offering a simple message – ‘to expect another ‘big war’ no too far in the future. Mind you this is ‘not prophecy’ but simple observation, especially when we see what is currently unfolding in the Crimea as I write.

Post 'World War Three' Chicago
The film starts by showing a Chicago (above), which has been given the Libyan and Syrian ‘treatment’, as Beatrice Prior (Shailene Woodley) the main character in the plot explains “that after a great war, society was divided into five separate areas called factions to maintain order.” That ‘order’ is of course an interpretation of the ‘New World Order’.

Both Beatrice and her brother Caleb (Ansel Elgort) are children from the Abnegation faction that seem to be the ‘peace keepers’ of the new Chicago – and as I’ll focus on later, even the word ‘faction’ epitomises ‘separation’.

A wall of ‘mega proportions’ surrounds a futuristic Chicago, and as they say in the film, this is to keep out what ever is ‘out there’. Just as countries and regimes the world over, today and since ancient times have built walls to ‘separate’ themselves from what they fear is out there. Israel (below) is one example.
A walled Chicago
It seems that Roth has managed to throw into the mix a bit of Rowling’s Harry Potter, with its ‘four houses’ and a ‘sorting ceremony’, in the form of ‘chemically induced’ test and ‘blood-letting’ ceremony (ancient Greco-Roman style) to decide what ‘Faction’ the 16 year old initiates go into. It’s another ‘temple-like’ ritual performed not in a Gothic school but this time a post-hellenistic style arena.
Of course some of the themes in Divergent are very much similar to the Hunger Games book and films, not because it’s a ‘popular narrative’, but because this is an actual ‘projected future’, and agenda that could play out in this century. See my review of Catching Fire here.

The graphics used on the book cover are also not too far away from the Hunger Games covers, and as those that have read Roth’s books will know, that there is also a trilogy at work here – Divergent, Insurgent and the Allegiant. The language is ‘so Orwellian’ and the teens that watch this type of film or read such books have no idea, despite the positive end to this novel. The fact that some one labelled ‘insurgent’ may well be a person who desires to be free from oppression never gets mentioned in the global news speak.
The five factions that futuristic Chicago has been split into also reminded me in theme of the 1976 movie Logan’s Run, where society was also broken into factions and humans were ‘removed’ at the age of 30 (for those old enough to remember the original Michael York version). In Logans’s Run people are put through a quasi-religious ceremony known as Carousel, and some, known as runners, try to escape their fate when the time comes and it's the job of Sandmen to track them down and kill them.
In Divergent, a similar theme of ‘eliminating’ those that ‘cannot be controlled’ and are considered a threat to the State, are also swiftly removed.

The Symbolism of the Factions
The obsession with segregation is another theme embedded in these stories and of course the education system given to us by the elite structures from its conception, have focussed on clubs, groups, ‘houses or factions’, grade bands, etc, as part of the ‘school day’. As the excellent teacher and writer John Taylor Gatto said of such subjects:

“For reasons that are both fair and foul – but mostly for fair reasons – we have come under the domain of a scientific-management system whose ambitions are endless. They want to manage every second of our lives, every expenditure that we make. And the schools are the training ground to create a population that’s easy to manage.”

The Factions
The word faction is merely another way of saying ‘wing, arm, branch, division, contingent’ even ‘cabal’ and therefore a new city (world) order based on such terminology would be in truth the ‘old order’ re-inventing itself, yet ‘again’. The five factions are given a positive spin but are instruments of that 'scientific management' for a people that no longer trust ‘being naturally human’.

In the narrative, the erudite faction is the scientific management faction, the most logical-thinking (clinical) group. In the film they dress in a dark shade of blue and look like your classic ‘administrator’ ‘scientist’. They could have easily been at home in the Equilibrium movie plot as the level of government administration that connected to the Grammaton Clerics.
Clinical administrators of the system in the movie Equilibrium
The use of the symbol for the ‘all-seeing-eye’ didn’t surprise me and it’s placing within the intersecting circles relates to the Vesica Pisces symbol, closely related to the so called ‘Divine Proportion’, (Golden Ratio), and connected to the Greek symbol Phi. It’s also referred to as the ‘harmony of Apollo’ and therefore is a symbol of knowledge. The eye of course is the eye of ‘God’ (Saturn in occult terms) and can been seen in the Hubble pictures of the Hourglass Nebula approximately 8,000 light-years away from Earth in the Musca constellation. I am sure this inspired the artists involved?

The Erudite symbol here, in my view, represents what seems to be the element of ‘metal’ , the stars or ‘alchemy’ and ‘erudition’ is the depth, polish and breadth that 'education' supposedly confers. I’ll come back to education in context to this film at the end.
The Amity faction is meant for the kind and peaceful in the book. They grow crops and provide for other factions and they dress in browns, orange and yellow. Their symbol of the tree, ‘the tree of life’ is one that refers to ‘the beginning of the work’ in alchemical symbolism, and the tree is the symbol for the element of Earth (world tree) in some cases.
The Candor faction values honesty, and they dress in black and white. Their symbol is the scales of justice which if course goes back to the symbol of air, 'Libra' and the various deities (Maat in Egypt for one) that symbolise the aversion to chaos and the so called ‘bringer of law’. Truth here in this context is equated with 'true' justice, but as we too often see in our world, the two don't always come together.

The most fearless of the ‘new society’ according to the novel are the Dauntless faction. They are ‘supposedly’ the ‘protectors of the nation’ and are known for their bravery as much as they are known for their ‘policing’ of the ‘new city’. Their uniforms are black and their symbol is ‘fire’ and relates to the element of fire, obviously, along with the ‘flames’ that the new order has the potential to ‘rises out of’. No phoenix here this time folks, I think that would have been too obvious. Just the flames of rebellion tamed and used for the greater good, well on paper that is.

Abnegation in Divergent and Equilibrium

The main character Beatrice and her family reside in the Abnegation faction. They wear light grey clothes and are brought up to be selfless and do not value power, giving them the nickname ‘Stiffs’. They provide for the ‘factionless’, those who are unable to ‘fit into’ the ‘new order’ (the homeless population of the city). Beatrice's father Andrew (played by Tony Goldwyn) works closely with the Abnegation leader Marcus Eaton (Ray Stevenson). Roth says of the factions, “I tried to construct the factions so that they spanned a wide range of virtues. Abnegation, for example, includes five of the traditional “seven heavenly virtues:” chastity, temperance, charity, patience, and humility.”

The ‘emotions’ and ‘selflessness’ associated with this faction seemed to relate to the 'element of water' and reminded me of the somewhat ‘subdued population’ in the movie Equilibrium (above). Abnegation are the ‘Quaker-like’ faction and are shown to be a ‘problem’ for the Erudite Faction, as the movie goes onto to show.
The Quaker-like faction, with probably too much make-up there Shailene for a Quaker?
A motto that is echoed throughout the film, ‘faction before blood’ is merely another subtle dig at the need for the ‘State’ to have more power than the ‘family’. The Factions (designated by the state) replaces the family and its merely another form of ‘Brave New World’ meets Jung’s Red Book.

Five senses and facing fears
The factions are also symbolic of the ‘five senses’ (in my view) and in many ways how society has focused us on ‘convergent’ thinking through the 'analytical' hemisphere of the brain. ‘Divergent’ thinking, as the movie shows is not to be tolerated and comes out of ‘holistic’ associative thinking, that utilises both hemispheres.
Convergent and divergent parts of the brain
‘Convergent thinking’ doesn’t embrace the ‘sixth sense’ (intuitive communication) and is the very core of what we crazily call the ‘education system’ and the structure of the world as we know it. The exams kids are forced to pass every year are primarily based on overly convergent thinking. Don’t dare come up with your own answer to an exam question, even if it happens to be more 'truthful' or accurate? The Erudite Elite will go mad!
The Four Zoas (five sections)
Interestingly, William Blake’s imagery and longest poem titled the Four Zoas (The Death and Judgment of Albion The Ancient Man) was a private myth-cycle written in the late 1790s that hints at the 'connectedness' of these human 'states'. In this work, Blake traces the fall of Albion (the true state of humanity), who was originally considered fourfold but was ‘self-divided’. If there was a ‘fifth’ element it would be the ‘core’ of our being shown to be the place where the eggshell and the intersecting circles converge - the erudite. In the image of the Four Zoas (above) we have the symbolism of the idea behind the factions, senses and of course the primary four ‘directions’ included in many teachings from Native American belief, to modern psychology.

Of course Blake’s mythology runs into deeper notions of a ‘Gnostic’ thinking, but the idea is essentially that of ‘separation’ - symbolised through the mind, body, spirit and imagination. The ‘fall’ for Blake was the ‘division of these faculties' (these factions) that also featured in his epic work Jerusalem - The Emanation of the Giant Albion.

As I say, the right brain or ‘divergent’ can take us ‘out there’ into other realms of awareness and this is where individuals access their sixth sense, their intuition and their creative imagination. If your right brain is not open and powerfully functioning you can never totally locate or ‘see’ the ‘whole picture’ (use all factions).

Drugs and Mirrors
In the film Beatrice's is put through the initial tests by a woman named Tori (played by Maggie Q), were she drinks a blue serum that sends her (like all of the‘initiates’) mind into an inner world of ‘inner fears’. The drug induced dream state that Beatrice goes into through the subconscious, reminded me of the concept and themes in the 2010 movie Inception (below); A movie that played on the ability to ‘originate’ or ‘formulate’ another reality through traveling inside the subconscious and super conscious minds of clients. From what I’ve read about the second installment to this trilogy, ‘Insurgent’ has even more ‘serum inducing simulations’, killings and the coming of a new factionless government and society.
In Divergent Beatrice closes her eyes and then opens them to find herself alone, with Tori no longer standing by her side. She gets up and sees her reflection.
She keeps turning her head and sees more and more reflections. The mirror scenes are classic symbolism that infers ‘altars’ and ‘mind programming’ used in notorious MK Ultra. The use of drugs in such scenes also hints at the type of ‘behavioral engineering’ and programming that many have endured in the past, never mind the fictional future.

Beatrice’s faction also shuns vanity and therefore this is reinforced in her mind when she is drug induced to face her fears.
Altars and mulitple personalities (points of reference) for a 'Divergent'
As part of this sequence a rabid dog appears growling at Beatrice threatening her. She closes her eyes, looses her fear and then she sees it as a puppy. Her younger self appears, wanting to play with the puppy. It reverts to dangerous dog form again and runs to attack the little Beatrice. The older one (her true state) runs after the dog, and they sink through the floor. Beatrice awakens with a jolt. The results show that Beatrice can control her fears. As Tori says; “The test was inconclusive. You’re able to control and conquer your fears, they call it divergent”.

The Choosing Ceremony

After the tests the Choosing Ceremony arrives, and the Prior kids (below left) meet the erudite leader, Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet), who has an agenda as we shall see.
Join a faction or be dammed
Winslet’s character (above) is a cold blooded and ruthless ‘administrator’ of a world that ‘fears individuality’ or fears what they call ‘divergence’. Going against the system, ‘the factions’ is not a possibility in the new world and the Prior kids of course start that process for themselves by ‘choosing’ to leave their family’s faction for that of Erudite and in the case of Beatrice Dauntless; the two factions that are being used to weed out those that are simply ‘different’.

The Military-like ‘training’ of the Fearless
Beatrice choose Dauntless and along with other initiates, they are the wild ones, climbing to the top of the elevated train tracks and chasing after the train as it goes by, even jumping off a moving train onto a rooftop. Once on the roofs of the city they gather to meet with the Dauntless leader Eric (Jai Courtney) who gathers everyone over the edge of a building asking them to jump into a pitch black hole. He asks for a volunteer to go first, and Beatrice (the heroine to be) steps forward. After some hesitation, she jumps into the hole and lands on a net. She is pulled out by dauntless instructor called Four or Tobias Eaton (played by Theo James). He asks for her name, and she decides to call herself 'Tris' for short. Gladly Theo James treats this young lady better than the ones in the movie ‘The Inbetweeners’.
Facing fear
The initiates are set to begin training for them to prove they are worthy of staying in Dauntless. Eric warns them that if they fail to reach the top ranks they will be kicked out and stay factionless, unable to return to their old homes. The training and ‘militarising’ of the kids in this faction reminded me of every form of ‘training’ or ‘programming’ that makes the perfect ‘do as your told’ police officer or soldier. The Dauntless leader Eric (below left) is the epitome of the psychopathic, military-like ‘gone bad’ ‘character’ that too often gravitates towards such professions.

Of course Tris and Four strike up a ‘relationship’, which becomes evident that they have something in common. The majority of the film is spent in the Dauntless camp, showing the training, intimidation and often psychopathic attitudes of the ‘minds’ behind this faction. Fear is the weapon used to train these kids and ‘knock’ them into shape, we see scenes of initiates being pushed off bridges, knifes been thrown at heads and generally combat and fighting amongst friends. As we see later, the Dauntless are very useful to Erudite camp, because ‘Knowledge is Power’ when it is ‘enforced'.

The ‘Factionless’ then and now
To some up and not dwell too much on the plot, the kids are fighting each other to stay in the faction otherwise they become one of the many homeless, considered outcasts and therefore ‘unworthy’ of a proper life. The ‘outcast theme’ interestingly is a common one found in other movies that have projected into the future a subdued population controlled by the State. The movie Demolition Man starring Stallone and Snipes had an ‘outcast’ factionless ‘underground class’ of people that could not live on the ‘surface world’ because they had chosen not to be part of the ‘new order’ that has more or less eradicated ‘crime’ (see below). Directed by Marco Brambilla it’s a story that tells of a terrorist and his enemy, a counter-terrorism soldier that are cryogenically frozen and awakened in the 22nd century, when violence was purged from society, only to be replaced by a ‘happy’ peaceful ‘subdued new’ model.
The futuristic new society in the movie Demolition Man was a ‘microchipped one, where the population ‘required’ the ‘chip’ so they could obtain food. They were in effect ‘factionless’ to use th language in Divergent.

We now have laws and policies in the USA that also ‘bans’ people from feeding the homeless (the Factionless as such) and this my friends is the precursor for the worst possible scenario – the ‘Hunger Games’, literally! In more than 30 cities, including Philadelphia, Raleigh, N.C., Seattle and Orlando FL, and now LA, all  have adopted or debated some form of legislation intended to ‘restrict the public feeding of the homeless’, according to the National Coalition of the Homeless. America isn't alone when it comes to exiling 'the factionless' or homeless, the Mayor of Verona (Flavio Tosi) also wants to fine people for feeding the homeless (see here). As one article said on the net:

“Civil rights are often lost in societies by politicians scapegoating unpopular minorities. This happened with jews, gypsies, etc in Nazi Germany and we must be very careful the same does not happen here.”

In Britain we have nearly two million of the poorest families been made poorer by a manufactured below-inflation benefit rises and changes to the welfare system played out by government austerity measures (cuts). An analysis by Oxfam and the New Policy Institute found the worst-affected 200,000 families were losing £864 a year as a result of benefit cuts. But rather than come together, people are still easily duped into 'seeing us and them', 'the benefit seekers' against the 'working public', or the middle income bracket complaining about the working poor. Its all about divide and rule through manufactured 'factions in society'.
No need for fiction as the ‘Factionless’ in terms of the poor and outcast are being created by default today. See some of the articles and videos here and below.

I’ve read some blogs and posts regarding the comparison of the Divergent trilogy with the Hunger Games trilogy, where some have said they’re not really the same kind of scripts and narratives. Of course not, but the same 'themes' keep cropping up in books and films over the years. Why? Because its in the ‘ether’ and the collective conscious mind. Holywood is selling the script and we are buying it. Divergent is a movie that reinforces the need to ‘suppress individuality’ and those that are a threat to the ‘so called’ stability or ‘order’ of the day. We have seen it time and time again in human history and in other books and movies, and much of it feeds into the sinister Agenda 21.

More Training and Scheming
As the movie goes onto show, Erudite Council members are secretly visiting the Dauntless camp under the ruse of supplying serums and eqipment for the final phase of the Dauntless initiation testing programme. In truth, they are always on the look out for ‘divergents’. Mathews (Winslet below) is looking out for those that would be a ‘threat’ to the stability of the new order and in the movie Equilibrium, we see the drug induced police state 'watching' for humans that can ‘feel’ and show ‘emotion’ in a drug induced ‘emotionless new world order’.

The police state and its 'watchers'
In the final part of the training Tris is knocked out by one of her fellow initiates and ends up unconscious and therefore thrown out of the ‘initiation competition’ towards becoming a fully fledged Dauntless member. She eventually gets up and re joins the competition, which takes them by train to a deserted part of Chicago where they split into two teams using guns on each other to locate and ‘capture’ their opponents’ flag. It’s a Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief moment in truth, and a secene that sees Tris and Four, of course, getting closer during this ‘mission’. It is a 'teen flick' style movie after all. As Four say’s to Tris when revealing his tattoo, “It’s been a long time since I can trust someone. I don’t want to be just one thing. I want to be brave, selfless, intelligent, honest and kind”. He of course is obviously a 'divergent'.
Tris and Four
As more trucks come from Amity and the Dauntless faction are off loading equipment, Tris finds her mother who as secretly arrived to the camp to see her. Her mother warns Tris of the erudite crack down on the Abnegation faction and that there is a plot to remove them from the ‘order of the day’. Sounds like history repeating itself?

Tris and her mum meet in secret - 'mums the word'.
The final tests are now upon the young initiates of Dauntless. This time more terrifying and harder to endure as they once again are put into a chemically induced state and have to face their fears.
Tris once again shows that she is able to do this very quickly which is what confirms to Four that she is also a ‘divergent’. Her fears come in the form of attacking crows and fire beyond the safety of the city wall. Tris shows in the ‘dream state’ that ‘nothing is real’ and that it’s ‘just an illusion’ (in her head) and therefore can easily ‘tap the glass’ of the box that is filling up with water that she is trapped in. Getting ‘out of the box’ is a mind trick you see, its all in the mind! She sees her reflection and once again tells herself, "This isn't real."

Getting out of the box - seeing fear as illusion
Faking her Fear
After the initial test, Tris goes to Erudite headquarters to visit her brother Caleb. The other Erudite members look at her with surprise to see a Dauntless member in there, shes going against the grain and showing her true ‘divergent’ colours. Tris tells Caleb that she thinks Erudite is planning to take over the other factions, starting with Abnegation. Caleb, now acting and thinking like a real Erudite, disagrees and maintains his devotion to his faction over his family ("faction over blood"). Tris tearfully leaves when she realizes her brother won't help or consider this revelation.

On her return, Four brings Tris into the simulation room where he lets her get inside his mind to show her ‘his fears’, so to be able to show her how she can ‘fake’ her abilities and not be detected. As more Erudite members are bringing in supplies to Dauntless, Four shows her a vial of an orange serum that is being used to make people more prone to suggestion and therefore easily caught out.

Sharing the mind game
In the last simulation scene we see Four enter the house of his father of the leader of the Abnegation Faction, Marcus Eaton (played by Ray Stevenson) and punch him as a payback for years of abuse. A rumour that was been spread by the Erudite faction so to 'degrade' the Abnegation factions’ leadership (through Marcus), over all of the factions.
As Four says, “The Erudite elite are going to be watching the final tests”, (on TV Screens) where all of the initiates fears and how they deal with them can be seen.
Thanks to Four, Tris passes her final test by not showing her true nature in the dream scape and becomes a fully-fledged member of the Dauntless faction. I swear that was the chair in the 80’s Block Buster quiz though (showing my age now)?
Give us a 'D' Bob for Dauntelss, er no, 'Divergent'
Of course, the real agenda is revealed when the new Dauntless members are ‘suited up’ and given guns as they line up for a ‘mission’ that has been planned for. The new initiates are ‘microchipped’ (with a tracking device) and marched onto trains, while we see a man wandering out of line, uncertain of who to follow, leading the dauntless leaders to realise he is a Divergent. The tests, the drugging and now the chipping was all part of the process of ‘weeding out’ those that can ‘think for themselves’. The man is reassured by Eric below (right) and then coldly shot in the head (nice guy).
Four 'faking it' and the Dauntless 'elite' looking out for 'divergents'.
The Micro-chipped Police Sate

“The system removes the threat of anyone exercising their independent will. Divergents threaten that system. It won't be safe until they're removed.” Jeanine Matthews

Dauntless members are sent by train to the Abnegation neighbourhood so to round up the residents – just like any other ‘round up’ throughout history. The police state (Fourth Reich) has arrived to the new city of Chicago, which is a constant theme in movies over and over.
The Dauntless members all chipped and gun hoe begin rounding up the Abnegation members, but Tris and Four refuse to join in and fake their zombie-like trance, induced by the serum and chip. Central command doesn't work on a 'divergent' it seems. Instead they try to seek out Tris’s family but are captured and brought to the lovely cold-hearted Jeanine (Winslet) shown below. Four is taken away while she orders Tris to be executed. Nice people this lot. Before the mind controlled Dauntless police can shoot her, they are killed by Natalie (Tris’s mother), who rescues her daughter. Of course Tris realizes that her mother was indeed a former Dauntless member and another chase ensues.
As more of the Abnegation faction (people) are rounded up for extermination, Tris mother is killed in the shooting but she finds her father (below right) hiding with Four’s father. They, along with Caleb  decide to infiltrate the Dauntless headquarters taking the train back, all having to endure what Tris endured on that first day, jumping off trains and down holes and eventually shooting their way into the control station. The mind controlled police need to be ‘turned off’ you see.
'Divergent thinking' and 'creative thinking' leads to freedom
As the movie draws to a close, we see hundreds of Abnegation members rounded up and about to be shot. Some of the Dauntless mind controlled ‘officers’ have already begun killing the Abnegation members and as Tris enters the ‘control room’, (where the extermination is being controlled from via satellite), they fight a bunch of mad erudite technicians headed by Mathews (Winslet). Here Tris finds that Four (Theo James) has also been injected with the MK serum and it is controlling him to 'attack her'. She fights back but has to remind him who she is in ‘his eyes’. She holds the gun to him, and then to her head as she continues to reassure him, "It's okay, I love you." Four fights the serum and mind control, eventually helping Tris fight off the guards, while Matthews (Winslet) tries to finish the extermination process.

Without going into great detail a final fight ends with the Erudite leader becoming injected with her own serum, as Tris announces that she is a ‘Divergent’. The effect of the serum forces Matthews to release the Dauntless members from their 'hive-like mind control' as the software is deleted and the system terminated. If only eh?

The end scene once again has Tris narrating, saying, “ that they feel like the factionless, having lost their homes and loved ones.”

The film concludes as the train takes Tris and co outside the city wall to the ‘Amity’ faction ready for the second film to unfold. The movie leaves us with the message that ‘manufactured factions’ and ‘divisions’ can be important aspects of ‘society’ when used for the good, but when one division seeks to use others to remove any other faction, we have the classic coup d'etat and the usual ‘divide and rule’. Only a ‘divergent’ can utilize all parts to act accordingly and uphold all virtues.

Left brain - right brain and the bridge between both hemispheres
Convergent Education
The world in this movie is a ‘broken world’ disguised as a ‘perfect model’ that has restructured itself on values that rely on clear segregation. The Factions cannot ‘come together’ to act as 'one vision',(or  in one individual) or as ‘individuals’. Instead they are divided into ‘factions’ out of ‘fear’ of what led to the ‘war’ (the Third World War), what they see as human flaws. The population thus is 'controlled' through that fear. Out of 'fear and division' in society (in extreme cases apartheid), the people have to be categorized, labeled and ‘utilized’ like 'cogs' in a dystopian machine-like order. Its leaders 'fear' the ‘individual’ and the ‘non-conformist’, to the point of ‘insanity’, which is really no different to our so-called civilized ‘inverted’ world that we live in today. A world that too often fears what is different to the ‘norm’ and uses the arrogant and the uninformed to 'police' the thoughts of the masses. Divergent thinking is a means by which we can get to our 'uniqueness', its an 'essential capacity for 'creativity' and above all we need more 'creative imagination' in our world.

Whoever sets the norms, sets the ‘convergent structures’ embedded in what call education, politics, the media, etc. To categorize in this story, is through colour of clothes, aptitude, virtue and ‘mindset’, which is no different to catagorising through race and religion in some ways. The lessons from dividing people into factions are ongoing today and we are obsessed with it. As the author of the book Divergent says,

“I think we all secretly love and hate categories—love to get a firm hold on our identities, but hate to be confined—and I never loved and hated them more than when I was a teenager. That said: Though we hear a lot about high school cliques, I believe that adults categorize each other just as often, just in subtler ways. It is a dangerous tendency of ours. And it begins in adolescence.”

Yes it begins in adolescence, true because the education system demands it in many ways and parents too often reinforce what ever the system has told them to think. Western education and its focus on ‘convergent left-brain thought’ is the world symbolized through this movie and its defined ‘clone-like’ factions. Education by its very institutionalized nature 'separates' the individual, alienates and measures the individual, quite often against insane 'markers' that hardly ever consider the 'holistic' perspective, which can be reached through 'divergent thought process'. The 'State' in the movie is not a utopia, 'it’s a dictatorship' disguised as a ‘utopian model’, waiting to be turned on its head at any time.

Institutionalized and uniformed
Stand out from the crowd because you know whats 'true' not what youv'e been 'told is true'.
Only a conscious (awake) mind can see through the categorization of life that we still have around us, never mind in some broken future. As David Icke writes of education in the Perception Deception,

“The system of what we call education has been structured from the start to program a student’s perception of reality for the rest of their life. The fact that it doesn’t always work is a testament to the power of Consciousness over programming, but with the vast majority of students, work it does.”

This ought to not be the case, and ‘convergent’ and ‘divergent’ thinking should be the ‘balance’ between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. Just as the heart and mind need to be balanced in everyday life, the mind still needs to let go and give in more to the ‘heart’. Hence why Tris uses the ‘connection of love’ to snap Four out of the zombie-like state at the end of the movie. Fear and love can’t dwell in the same instant and therefore the message is clear, when Four says, “Becoming fearless isn’t the point. That’s impossible. It’s learning how to ‘control’ your fears and how to be free from it.”
There is no real freedom or even true ‘freedom of thought’ in the current education models that are supported by corrupt governments and the institutions that finance these 'rigid' often insane models. For example, there’s nothing very ‘divergent’ about accepting the one tracked 'crazy debt based education system', through student loans, and obtaining a University degree just because it’s the ‘norm’- or because the system demands it? Come on students’ and those that have teens at this time, it’s time to 'wake up' and 'opt out' of the ‘programming’. 'Diverting from' or 'converting to' anything or model that doesn't celebrate true freedom has to be crazy.
Schooling or 'programming' the next generation
The ‘factionless’ in this story are symbolic of being the ‘free ones’ and in some ways they represent the ‘human being’ who does not want to be ‘fixed’ in a job, a profession, a ‘belief system’ or have a ‘label’ placed over their heads. In the next book/film the factionless play an important part in the story.

The Divergent (as in the movie) is ‘within us all’ of course, and it is our ability to ‘perceive the world’ through unique eyes and ‘unite all factions’, all virtues. Only focusing on one faction, side, hemisphere, camp or polarity is a limited ‘true ability’ of our human imagination; and that’s why I suppose the narrative uses such themes and words to get this message across? Amongst the usual programming and collective themes of a apocalyptical war followed by a dystopian future, surely the message of ‘love and unity’ will come through in the end?

Look out for my review of Transcendence next.

See you next time.

Noah - the Bloodline of the ‘Watchers’ and the Beginning of the 'End'

'And the Elohim blessed them, and the Elohim said unto them, 'Be ye fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.'
Genesis 1: 28

I recently went to see the movie Noah starring Russell Crowe and directed by Darren Aronofsky, who has also given us movies such as Requiem for a Dream (2000), Pi (1998) The Fountain (2006) and the Black Swan (2010). It was an epic piece of cinema and very much in keeping with Aronofsky’s style and impact. And since it’s almost Easter on planet Earth I thought a biblical movie review of ‘ark-like’ proportions would go down well, like a bunny's basket of ‘chocolate eggs’ at the end of Lent. I love religious 'scripts', and Noah doesn't disappoint in terms of narratives gleaned from several sources.

Apparently though Noah seems to have disappointed some Christian groups for not staying with the ‘original script’, but since there is nothing ‘original’ about much of the Old Testament ‘scripts’, then I won’t necessarily be ‘focusing’ too much on that ‘argument’ in this review. Instead I will be looking at the themes and characters and of course embellishing the original tale. I am not religious, as most of you know, and have no problem with other people believing any of the stories in the 'big book', but, Noah is a ‘Lord of the Rings’ style movie and the contradictions found in books from Genesis to Malachi are often of ‘movie proportions’ in my view. Not least the notion of Adam and Eve being free from original ‘Sin’ (a moon god) while dwelling in the ‘perfect garden’ – until they go for that I pad, sorry apple. Adam and Eve are symbols of our human mitochondrial DNA (which is maternally inherited) and Y chromosome DNA (paternally inherited) through the X and Y - the ‘X’ symbolism being a 'hot topic' to pursue in another review.

A garden ‘so perfect’ that a ‘deceiving talking serpent’, along with a simple apple could instigate the ‘fall’ and later rout of mankind? Not forgetting a God that supposedly ‘loves’ us, but also ‘loves’ to wipe out all that ‘he’ loves, is another example of some of the absurdities put forward by religions.
Russell Crowe playing Russell Crowe - God loves beards.
In this movie version of the ‘original script’ we have a passionately ‘driven’ ‘son of the father’ (Noah) whose only purpose becomes the will of a ‘maniac’ God, who has decided that total human genocide is the only way to deal with the ‘debauchery and filth’ that has become the human species, since the time of Adam. In fact as the movie progresses Noah’s character changes (along with his appearance) as he becomes more and more ‘obsessed’ with fulfilling God’s genocidal mission.

There’s nothing new in relation to the God of the Old Testament ‘loving a bit of death’ and as many writers have pointed out in books, this ‘God’ is no other than the Demiurge and ‘architect’ of the Earth (reality/world). Another name for God is the Ancient of Days first seen in the Book of Daniel and in the original Aramaic as Atik Yomin, or in the Greek in the Septuagin.

Left: The Ancient of Days, by William Blake Middle: A 14th-century fresco from Ubisi, Georgia. Right: Brahma is considered as the first god of the Hindu Trinity, the other being Vishnu and Shiva.
William Blake’s Ancient of Days (above left) is the perfect symbolic image of the Demiurge with ‘his’ ‘compass’ measuring space and time. As I have shown in other articles, this ‘figure is also Cronos or Saturn. The 'All-Seeing-Eye' and the compass used in Freemasonry is another symbol associated with the Saturn – Cronos – Ancient of Days. The eye is of the 'watchers', which I'll come to.
In symbolic terms the ‘stories’ of ‘killing’ and ‘destruction’ prior to Noah’s Ark and the deluge itself, are the work of the ‘living distortion’ known as the Demiurge. The Gnostics called this God Ahriman, El, Saklas, Samael, Satan or Yahweh - the ‘creator’ of the ‘lower world’, associated with matter, flesh, time and more particularly, an imperfect, ephemeral world. There is no adversary, Yahweh and satan are the same 'force' in different expressions of the Demiurge. Simply put in movie speak, 'he' is the Architect in The Matrix Movies.
The Architect of 'reality' - The Demiurge
Seth and the bloodline of Noah, relates to Seth/Set of ancient Egypt and can be found in the stories that also talk of slaying his brother Osiris.

The pre-flood world of Lamech and Tubal-Cain in the movie Noah
Noah’s Supposed Lineage
The movie starts with a young boy, Noah witnessing his father’s (Lamech) death, at the hands of the then young king Tubal-Cain, a descendant of Cain who murdered his brother Able.

Cain and Able - El and Enlil
Sacrifice, martyrdom and the blood letting of the new covenant was born out of this story and it is the constant theme or ‘mark’ of a maniac (often Arrogant) God and ‘his offspring’ (the elite priesthoods) found in religious writings. Here are a few examples.

But ye are come … to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Heb. 12:22, 24

From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, it shall be required of this generation.

Luke 11:51

Story has it that the bloodline of Noah and the land he occupies is of the descendent of Seth, one of the three sons (Cain, Able and Seth) children of Adam and Eve. Noah’s is a ‘hybrid’ of human and non-human lineage, which is why he converses with the Watchers in this movie.
Bloodline of the Hybrids
Noah, like his father and grandfather, had supposedly held true to the ‘word of God’, to Seth, unlike the line of Cain. In the movie, after killing Lamech Tubal Cain looted his corpse taking the ancient snakeskin, which had been passed down from the time of Adam and Eve. The passing of the snakeskin in the movie is symbolic of this ‘hybrid’ connection to the gods. Those reptilians were in this bloodline from the start you see.
Serpent Worship
Snake or serpent worship is the oldest form of ‘religious worship’ on Earth and can be traced back to what scientists also refer to as the Toba Catastrophe event, a catastrophe ‘theory’ that suggests that a ‘bottleneck’ of the human population occurred about 70,000 years ago, reducing the total human population to around 15,000 individuals. Mathematical data and population genetics for this period also suggest a relatively low level of genetic variation among present-day humans, hence the Eve gene theory. The University of Oslo showed back in 2006 that modern humans, Homo sapiens, have performed advanced Serpent rituals in Africa for 70,000 years. A bit longer than the dates given in the Bible for the age of the Earth of course, but nonetheless the serpent has been ‘influencing’ humanity since the time of the Mitochondrial Eve period. Serpent Worship is not just about the 'Kundalini' and Yoga, etc, It's also the focus on 'the gods' for some ancient cultures - the same gods that taught Homo sapiens how to live with a 'new Earth', its cycles, seasons and 'worship' what seem to be the same gods 'with different names' all over the world.
In many ways the Adam and Eve story must relate to the ‘seeding’ of the Homo sapiens race on Earth (out of Eden), so to create a perfect species that would ‘obey’ its creator – the Demiurge. Obviously that didn’t work too well so ‘God’ (or the gods’) whipped up a deluge to wipe the slate clean, so to speak. This would have been stage 2 of ‘installing’ a ‘new earth’ in the gods’ image.  An ‘off world plan’ that would have worked beautifully for an intelligence that wished to ‘take over’ and totally ‘control’ a freshly cleansed planet, and leave a hybrid line (the bloodline of Noah) to repopulate the Earth. Something I’ll come back to later.

Many years later, Noah is living with his wife Naameh and his three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth (below). After seeing a flower grow instantly from the ground and haunted by vivid dreams Noah decides to travel with his family to visit his grandfather, Methuselah.
The long road
On the way, they come upon a group of people recently killed. Its kind of Mad Max meets The Road at this point in the movie. Moving across what looks like an apocalyptic landscape they adopt a lone survivor, a girl named Ila, who was wounded in the attack, which we later find has made her barren. Noah and his family are chased by some of Tubal-Cain's men, but are able to seek refuge by entering what looks like a ‘forbidden zone’, the place of the fallen angels known as the Watchers.

The Watchers

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
Genesis: 1:26

In the movie Noah we see the Watchers as fallen angels who in their true form served the creator, prior to the ‘fall’ but on Earth the Earth itself burdens them, for trying to aid Adam and Eve and therefore in that process became covered in stone. The reference to heavenly beings called ’Watchers’ seems to originate in the book of Daniel 4, where there are three mentions of these beings, as watchers, or ’holy ones’, (see verses 10, 20 and 14). This term ‘sons of god’ is literally ‘sons of gods’ and comes from 'ben ha-elohim', ‘sons of the shining ones’. In fact every time the word God is used in the Old Testament it is translated from a word that means Gods, plural; Elohim and Adonai are two examples. El (Elf, Ellu) is a word that also translates as 'shining One'.
Elohim
In the Ancient Indian Vedas the ‘Watchers’ are known as the Nagas or Serpent Gods who were also attributed with similar feats mentioned in writings known as the Sumerian Tablets. Again in Buddhism they were referred to as the ‘snake guardians’ of the ‘doorways’ or portals and these 'portals' are the openings between different worlds – between Heaven and Earth.
The Watchers, 'watching' over the Earth in the movie Noah
The Greek word for watchers is egregoroi which literally translates as the ’wakeful’. The term Grigori, refers to the same beings  called Watchers as recorded in the Book of Enoch. It is said that until the mid-2nd century AD, Jewish writing (such as midrashim) can be taken to identify the ‘sons of God’ as angels (Genesis 6:1 and 4). The image above shows the Watchers as angels in the movie Noah, before they fell to Earth. Here is an image I made in 1993 that shows the Watchers as four angelic hosts before the Moon was placed in the Earth's orbit by the forces attributed to Saturn - Satan or the Demiurge.
Here Comes the Moon painted in 1993.
The links to ‘fallen angels’ are played on in the movie as the watchers 'fell like meteorites' (below) and were encased in matter (stone) and therefore unable to ascend until they died in service to their creator. I’ll come back to the 'stone symbolism' shortly.
In a dream last year I saw what looked like a meteorite hit the Earth in what seemed like America and out of this ‘stone ship’ emerged a creature that looked very similar to the Thing of Marvel comic fame. The Fantastic Four, who gained superpowers after exposure to cosmic rays during a scientific mission to outer space, including the monstrous Thing (Ben Grimm) below, is a remarkable resemblance to a Watcher and the golem recorded in Judaism. Stan Lee (Stanley Martin Lieber), the imagination behind Marvel, was of course from a Romanian-born Jewish background, so its possible  he knew about such subjects.
The notable appearance of the Watchers was said to be their eyes, as one text from the Second Book of Enoch describes,

“And there appeared to me two men very tall, such as I have never seen on earth. And their faces shone like the sun, and their eyes were like burning lamps.”

The Watchers falling to Earth and their new Earth form as stone people in the movie Noah
The Persian poet Firdowsi, in his Shahnemeh or Book of Kings, the legendary history of Iran (completed in AD1010), tells the story of the birth of Zal, the ‘Demon’ or ‘Watcher’ offspring, whose appearance horrified his father, King Sam. According to Firdowsi, this Watcher hybrid called Zal married a foreign princess named Rudabeh, a descendant of the 'serpent king', Zahhak, who was said to have ruled Iran for a thousand years. Rudabeh is described as ‘tall as a teak tree’ and ivory-white. These are the familiar features of the 'Watcher' offspring from this ancient period.
In fact ‘stones’ and 'rocks' were considered sacred due to their ancient connection to the ancestors for most aboriginal peoples. Australian Aborigines believe that the heavenly vault is composed of rock crystal and that God’s throne is made of quartz. When meteorites fall to Earth they are considered ‘imbued with deity’ or with celestial sanctity, and Ayers Rock (Uluru) is one big deity. Whatever fell to mark the black stone of Mecca is also another example of worshiping the ‘stone from heaven’. As with metals that are forged from stone, the Aztecs said that their ‘weapons’ came from the stars.

Birthing the Watchers – the Giants
Effigies of voluptuous females found in Palaeolithic ‘caves’ are portable idols dedicated to the goddess figures that supposedly gave birth to the sons of the Shining Ones, the Watchers. Some of these effigies don't look human that's for sure.
Mothers of the watchers
The birth of these 'gods' is described in the Book of Enoch, were we read of the birth of Lamech’s strange son Noah:

“I have begotten a strange son. He is not like an ordinary human being, but looks like the children of angels of heaven to me. His form is different and he is not like us...it does not seem to me that he is of me but of the angels.”

Lamech’s ‘strange son’ who could converse with the Watchers in the movie Noah, is actually based on the Sumerian hero Utnapishtim, something I’ll come back to shortly.

Claiming a lineage back to Noah (the watchers) by the secret societies and priesthoods going back to Sumeria is also a common theme found in Freemasonic legends and beliefs. The same reference to the ‘shining ones’ being born to Earth women can also be found in later texts such as the Book of Kings in Iran (1010AD) as I mentioned above. The offspring of these encounters were recorded as the Nefilim, Rephiam, Emim and Anakim, who were also a giant race, recorded in texts and art all over the world. These giants were credited with giving the human race a range of knowledge known as the ‘Domain of the Gods’ in exchange for sexual favours from the 'daughters of men'. Their combined union resulted in a race of Giants known as the ‘Nephilim’, who proceeded to cause chaos on the Earth and were, allegedly, wiped out by the biblical flood. The Biblical Goliath was a Rephiam (watcher) and in Hebrew repha means giant. In fact several Pharoahs were said to have descended from the Rapha, who also is said to have seeded the Valley of the Rephaim and were worshipped as the sons of God's, their name meaning 'son of Ra'. Archaeological finds in Egypt also reveal giant cone headed depictions among normal sized men including several Pharoahs. There are hundreds of historical events that refer to giants from the Philistines (Goliath) to the Rock giants of Nordic myth, too many to go into here. Here’s an interesting blog on similar themes.

The Golem
In Jewish folklore, a golem is an animated anthropomorphic being, created entirely from inanimate matter. The word was used to mean an amorphous, unformed material (usually out of stone and clay)  and the most famous golem narrative involved Judah Loew ben Bezalel, the late-16th-century rabbi of Prague, who was said to have conjured and controlled the Golem once brought to life.
Golem
Golem’s can be crudely-formed figures, usually made of stone and clay, similar to a giant doll that is brought to life and controlled by powerful rabbis (magicians). Sounds like a lot of Hollywood movie stars, some of which seem like ‘ doll/figures’ that are ‘controlled’ by a powerful Rabbi/magician, or handler. Adam was said to be a ‘golem before God’ (the Gods in truth) as they (the Elohim) gave him the ‘breath of life’. As Wikipedia explains, golems "could be activated by the ‘ritualistic’ use of various letters of the Hebrew Alphabet (the Kabala) forming a 'shem' (any one of the Names of God). The shem (spell) was written on a piece of paper and inserted either in the mouth or in the forehead of the golem, thus bringing it into life and action." The Kabbalah is a system of mysticism, which is described in a number of books, such as the Sefer Yetzirah, that can be used for either good or ill. But of course, there is a secret and ritualistic face of the ‘dark’ use of Kabbalah (and its ‘magic’) in Satanism as practised by the El-ite on Earth.

Stone Coats all over the World
Stone or rocks are considered the oldest ‘energies’ on Earth, not least in relation to geological and scientific reasons, but in more aboriginal perspectives, rock was the ‘first’ living form. In the Old Testament Adam is also created out of ‘Earth’ or ‘clay’, and it has been no surprise to me over the years to find similarities in the myths and texts relating to gods of ‘stone and fire’ and ‘commandments on stones’, in both Judaism and the likes of the Hopi of North America, for example.

Various stone anthropomorphic beings from indigenous cultures.
‘Stone Coat’ is the name of a mythological rock giant of the Native American Iroquois-speaking tribes, including the Cherokees. In some tribal traditions there is only one Stone Coat, while in others, there is a whole race of them. Stone Coats are described as being about twice as tall as humans, with their bodies covered in rock-hard scales that repel all normal weapons. In American Indian myth they are associated with winter and ice, and were said to hunt and eat humans, just as the Watchers. In some legends Stone Coats were once human, and became cannibal monsters as a curse punishing them for evil deeds. The same characteristics were attributed to the Windigos of Chippewa mythology (above left). In other legends Stonecoats were never human, but were a tribe of primordial man-eating monsters created by Flint. The common ground is that of a ‘race of beings’ that came to interconnect with humanity in ancient times that were clearly not human. When we look at some of the prehistoric standing stones and geological formations or landscapes across what was considered the ‘ancient world’ we often see anthropomorphic creatures of stone (below).

When I’ve walked amongst some standing stones, especially the Carnac stones in France I often ‘feel’ like I am walking amongst 'stone people', or people that were 'turned to stone'. In the world of contemporary art, the sculptures of Antony Gormley’s also give the ‘impression’ and feel for being in the presence of ‘beings’, giants that watch over space and time. The stone heads of Easter Island are classic ‘ancient versions’ of that same presence.
Always "watching"
The Hall of the Mountain Kings
The watchers and the bloodline supposedly descendant from Adam are also connected to the symbolism associated with ‘mountains’, not least biblical ‘characters’ from Methuselah to Moses. Places like Mount Hermon or the ’Mountain of the Chief’, ‘Jabal Haramun’ in Hebrew are considered holy sites connected to the ‘watchers’. Mount Hermon is a mountain cluster in the Anti-Lebanon mountain range and it’s summit straddles the border between Syria and Lebanon and is the highest point in Syria - and the highest permanently manned UN position in the world. Mount Hermon also means the forbidden place and this location is the exact parallel opposite of Roswell New Mexico on the exact polar opposite of the 33rd degree of the north latitude. The amount of so-called ET activity at scared mountains all over the world are numerous, too many to mention here.

In Jewish lore Hermon was called  ‘The Great Holy One’, the place that Gilgamesh passes near to in the Epic of Gilgamesh, where it was also called Saria by Sumerians, "Saria and Lebanon tremble at the felling of the cedars". In the Book of Enoch, Mount Hermon is the place where the Watcher class of fallen angels supposedly descended to Earth. They swear upon the mountain that they would take wives among the daughters of men and take mutual imprecation for their sin (Enoch 6). The mountain or summit is also referred to as Saphon in the Ugaritic texts where the palace of Baal is located in a myth about Attar. Baal and the Watchers are the same! The Book of Chronicles also mentions Mount Hermon as a place where Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah and Jahdiel were the heads of their families. Simply put, the connection to the mountain (high ground) and the watchers (or humans imbued with the gifts of the watchers) is often seen in the Biblical texts, etc.
Mount Hermon and San Francisco Peaks both important locations for unseen forces
We look at mountains physically and we see peaks and huge effigies of stone, but for those that can see ‘shamanically’ they are ‘vortexes of energy’ that anchor other worlds in this reality. The San Francisco Peaks (above right), which have considerable religious significance to thirteen local American Indian tribes (including the Havasupai, Navajo, Hopi, and Zuni) are described as though they are living entities with their unique vibration. One reference says that;

”The peaks are associated with the color yellow, and they are said to contain abalone inside, to be secured to the ground with a sunbeam, and to be covered with yellow clouds and evening twilight. They are gendered female.”

Too many mountain ranges to mention in this review, but they are a significant centre for ‘otherworldly’ phenomena since ancient times. It was in the Turkish mountains, on Mount Ararat, that Noah’s Ark came to rest when the waters receded, so the Bible claims.

The Star People, the Two Horned Gods and the Ark
For the Hopi people, the San Francisco Peaks are associated with the source of the beings that they call the Kachina’s and a place form where they journey from to interact with the Hopi Villages.  The peaks are seen as the home of the ‘katsinam’ or ’Kachina’ spirits, star ancestors who have become clouds following their death and of course many solstice alignments are configured from these peaks across the Hopi villages.
Ototo, chief kachina (left in white) and Aholi, his lieutenant. The more correct spelling is katsina and the Hebrew word for 'officer' in the Bible is 'katsin'.
Kachinas (Katsinas) are not gods but spirits that act as mediators between gods and humans and they were said to take the form of any animal, plant, celestial body, or otherworldly creature. The Katsinam (kachina) are invited to Hopi villages to serve as ethical and spiritual guides to the Hopi community from midwinter to midsummer. During the spring and early summer the Hopis’ perform a ceremonial cycle of masked kachina dances as a plea for rain and the general well being of the tribe. The Kachina’s are remarkably similar in depictions of Yahweh at Ajrud in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. The desert gods of the ancient world traveled far and wide it seems? They are all the same ‘gods’ under different names in my view.
Depictions of Yahweh on the piece of pottery (right) found at Kuntillet Ajrud, Egypt, look similar to the Kachinas
According to several sources Aaloosaktukwi or Humphrey's Peak, the highest of the San Francisco Peaks in Arizona holds particular religious significance to the Hopi and is associated with a deity called Aaloosaka, a symbol of the Two-Horn Society (above). The 'two horned' are a religious group among the Hopi dating to the occupation of the Awat ovi village on Antelope Mesa. The ‘two horned’ symbolism here relates to the long series of ‘horned deities from the epoch before the Flood and can be connected to the bloodline of the watchers. Jacob from where we supposedly get the ‘12’ tribes of Israel was said to be of the ‘horned’ clan. As it says in Deuteronomy 33:17; “In majesty he (Jacob) is like a firstborn bull; his horns are the horns of a wild ox. With them he will gore the nations, even those at the ends of the earth.”
The symbolism between the Crescent moon (the Ark) and the two horns over the waters that it commands is very telling.
"I will cut off the horns of all the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up."
Psalm 75:10

The Moon God Sin
Original Moon Sin
Sin was the ‘father of the gods’, the ‘god of the Moon’ in the Mesopotamian mythology of Akkad, Assyria and Babylonia. Sin is also Nanna, a Sumerian deity, the son of Enlil and Ninlil, and became identified with the term ‘Semitic Sin’. The Fall = original Sin. But what caused the fall? The Moon and the Serpent? The visual themes above are not necessarily based on the actual story of Noah, but with some stretch of the imagination and insight, we might just realise that what the Bible calls God and ‘his’ desire to wipe out humanity, may just have come from the mind of an ‘other-worldly predator intelligence’ that took many forms, both seen and unseen.

The Gilgamesh Connection
The movie Noah also appears to borrow some plot points from the Epic of Gilgamesh, not least through Gilgamesh’s fights with two ‘rock giants’ and these giants are the only ones that can take old Gilgamesh where he wants to go, to Utnapishtim (a Noah figure) to learn the secret of immortality. Gilgamesh builds a raft (could be an ark), instead, and finds Utnapishtim and his wife living alone across a great sea, quite possibly the same sea that was the aftermath of the great deluge survived by Utnapishtim (Noah).
Utnapishtim's Ark flanked by Watchers
In the Epic of Gilgamesh it is said that the ‘gods’ Anu, Enlil, Ninurta, Ennugi, and Ea intended to flood the world and kill all people, but Ea decided to rescue Utnapishtim and his wife, along with their family and friends and the animals. After the flood, Ea settled Utnapishtim and his wife in a far off place and granted them immortality. So, from the Epic of Gilgamesh, we also have stone giants, a Noah figure living apart from other people, and the ‘gods' plan to kill off humanity and therefore build a ‘new Earth’.

Adam and Eve the Blueprint of the ‘Gods’

It’s obvious that Genesis was compiled from the Sumerian records and the Sumerian flood hero Utnapishtim, was replaced by the name Noah, when the much later texts of Enoch were penned.

The ancient Hebrew text, the Book of Noah and its derivative, The Book of Enoch, refers to the birth of Noah and sections also appear in the Dead Sea Scrolls, found in Israel in 1947. The Scrolls are connected with the Essene community in Palestine 2,000 years ago. In these writings Noah is described as unlike a human being and more like ‘the children of the angels in heaven’ – the Watchers. Lamech questions his wife about the father of Noah: “Behold, I thought then within my heart that conception was (due) to the Watchers and the Holy Ones...and to the Nephilim...and my heart was troubled within me because of this child.”
In The Book of Enoch it is said that Noah, was white-skinned and blond-haired with eyes that made the whole house ‘shine like the Sun’.
Glowing humans that have obviously had their 'Readybrek'
In other words the bloodline of Noah (from Adam and through Seth) was that of the angels (now fallen) and the ‘gods’ that reigned through their offspring on Earth, as they still do!  Interestingly Adam and Eve were portrayed as ‘beings of light’ in the movie Noah (see the movie Cocoon image above left) and this I feel this was done to reinforce the ‘alien connection’ and the less physical/material vibration that now holds humanity in chains. The apple (above right) even looked like a ‘heart’ (the apple of my heart) and in many ways this story of Adam and Eve is a story of how humanity gradually went from being a ‘heart based’ human being, to a ‘gut’ based human being. Put another way, from ‘being human’ to a ‘human’ being something lesser than it’s original state. A vibrational ‘fall’ that focused humanity on ‘surviving’ through ‘fearing’ and focusing on the ‘material’ world that was waiting to ensnare the ‘first humans’. I’ll come back to this theme at the end of this review.

Navajo Native American Adam and Eve
Interestingly, in the Navajo creation story Paul G. Zolbrod talks of the ‘Yei’, as supernatural telepathic beings that supposedly populated the Earth in the beginning. The Yei are akin to the Navajo version of Adam and Eve. As Black Elk says of the abilities and sight of the ‘first people’, (true humanity before the fall);

"...And while I stood there I saw more than I can tell and I understood more than I saw; for I was seeing in a sacred manner the shapes of all things in the spirit, and the shape of all shapes as they must live together like one being."

Heavenly Boats
The Egyptians said that the Watchers came in their ‘heavenly boats’ and in ancient cultures across the world you have this constantly recurring theme of ‘gods’ arriving in some kind of flying machine to create civilisation and bring knowledge and techniques that were light years ahead of what existed before. In the Indian culture they called these flying craft Vimanas (below).
Is that a golden floating ark? The Golden Castle painted in 1650 © San Diego Museum of Art
There were several designs of these craft. Some were cigar-shaped while others were described as double-decked with a dome and porthole windows. Both types are regularly described in UFO sightings today. The ancient Indian texts describe anti-gravity technology of the type used in ‘flying saucers’. So much so, that when the Chinese discovered Sanskrit documents in Tibet and sent them to the University of Chandrigarh for translation, they were found to contain the knowledge to build interstellar spaceships, according to the University’s Dr Ruth Reyna. Yet the documents were thousands of years old! Dr Reyna revealed that these ships were known as ‘Astras’ and it was claimed they could fly to any planet, some texts talk about them flying to the Moon?
Interestingly, the Egyptian name for their Gods (plural), the ‘Neteru’, literally translates as ‘watchers’ and they too show their gods on in heavenly boats or sky rockets.

Again, according to the Hopi Indian elders magical flying shields called paatuwvota existed in their Third World, a previous epoch destroyed by an immense flood. This was a time when great cities and trade routes were built, and civilization was flourishing. In an address delivered to the United Nations in December 1992, Thomas Banyacya of the Hopi Coyote Clan said:

"The people invented many machines and conveniences of high technology, some of which have not yet been seen in this age."

We of course, recognize this description as echoing the pre-deluge global society often referred to as Atlantis and Mu.

Methuselah and his magic

"My father said that one day, if man continued in his ways, the Creator would annihilate this world."
Methuselah
Three generations of hybrids
Methuselah, who supposedly lived 969 years (Genesis 5:27), longer than anyone else recorded. His father was Enoch, of whom it is said he "walked with God" (5:24) but who was taken to heaven without dying at 365 years. Methuselah's son Lamech died a few years before the Flood at 777 years after bearing Noah. If they existed this lot, they weren’t human (as we understand today) were they?

The Watchers had been forced by the Creator to remain on earth as stone golems for disobeying the Creator and helping humans after they had been banished from Garden of Eden. According to the ‘script’ humans from the line of Cain had attempted to enslave and kill the Watchers, but Methuselah helped them escape and was befriended by them. An unspoken royal linage is at work through Methuselah down to Noah and beyond and this is the supposed bloodline of those that still do the bidding of those erroneously called God – the Elhohim. See my other reviews here.

In the movie Noah receives a seed passed down from Eden from Methuselah. He plants the seed and an entire forest grows from it within seconds. Noah announces that all the wood will be used to build an ark, and Noah's family and the Watchers begin construction, (which is an amazing irony, given the message of the movie) but it makes me wonder who built the ancient temples of stone eh? A rock clad ‘race of giants’ maybe?
Humans built these, yeah, right...
Arab legends also say that the astonishing blocks of stone at Baalbeck in the Lebanon or the Inca Fortress of Sacsayhuaman in Peru (above) were laid together by a ‘tribe of giants’ after the deluge? In the same way some British legends tell of giants coming from Africa to build Stonehenge.
Watchers in other movies
Where are the Ents when you need them to pull apart Isengard, in our world today or the Transformers to ‘watch’ over humanity? All of these movie ‘Holy-wood’ characters are symbolic of the Watchers in my view.
Methuselah
In the movie, Noah’s grandfather Methuselah (played by Anthony Hopkins) is portrayed as a protector of fallen Angels (demons) and a magician that uses a flaming sword in his youth. Its is the same sword in Genesis that guards the Tree of Life and belonged to supernatural beings that could use a powerful magic and enchantment to consume anything that tries to pass through the path it is guarding. Methuselah's sword in the movie was symbolic of the magic used to summon demons (Archons) as well as destroy them. The phrase "an offering by fire" is used around 70 times in the Old Testament and fire (flaming swords) relates to the writings at the heart of Gnosticism and the so called fire, the light of Lucifer.

'Flaming swords' - Methuselah's weapon of mass destruction
“…after the translation of Enoch, Methuselah was proclaimed ruler of the earth by all the kings. He walked in the footsteps of his father, teaching truth, knowledge, and fear of God to the children of men all his life, and deviating from the path of rectitude neither to the right nor the left. He delivered the world from thousands of demons, the posterity of Adam, which he had begotten with Lilith, that she-devil of she-devils. These demons and evil spirits, as often as they encountered a man, had sought to injure and even slay him, until Methuselah appeared, and supplicated the mercy of God. He spent three days in fasting, and then God gave him permission to write the Ineffable Name upon his sword, wherewith he slew ninety-four myriads of the demons in a minute, until Agrimus, the first-born of them, came to him and entreated him to desist, at the same time handing the names of the demons and imps over to him.”

The above text appears to have come from Jewish legends (Legends of the Jews by Louis Ginzberg), where Methuselah killed demons, but in this movie he kills men too by the thousands. Nothings really changed folks here.

Noah, the Animals and Tubal Cain

"We're The Sweeney, son, and we haven't had any dinner." Sorry wrong film
Eight years after the miracle of the forests and as the Ark nears completion, animals start to walk into the ark where they are put to sleep by ‘incense’ that Noah prepares. Churches always made me sleepy too. The simplicity of this part of the story is too crazy for me to even bother going into detail.
At this time Noah disguises himself and goes into the human camp that has gathered with the king Tubal Cain (Ray Winston above), so to find wives for his three sons. But instead he finds that the surrounding lands have been running short on food, and the humans led by Tubal-Cain, have become savage and cannibalistic.
Noah becomes convinced that the Creator wishes for the ‘entire’ human race to end completely and abandons his effort. Noah returns to the Ark, while Methuselah ‘secretly’ blesses Ila (below), and her barrenness is now cured. Ila and Shem become partners.
Ham (below) decides to go to the camp to find himself a wife so to make himself a man knowing that once the floods come he will be without a woman to continue his line. You could say he’s a ‘Ham’ sandwich without his eggs. Bad joke… After seeing much of the debauchery with his own eyes, he encounters a frightened young girl named Na'el. After comforting her she is eventually willing to go with him as the flood begins, but on their way back Na'el's foot gets caught in an animal trap just as Tubal-Cain's horde are about to stampede on the Ark.

Noah finds Ham and forces him to save himself and leave Na'el behind to be trampled to death by Tubal-Cain's soldiers. The rains intensify and the flooding begins. The Watchers form a barrier around the Ark and the masses of humans trying to get on board. From then on, a slaughter ensues, as humans are broken and sent flying by the Watchers.
All of Noah's family gets in the Ark except for Methuselah, who chooses to die in the flood. As the Ark is launched, and the last of the Watchers sacrifice themselves to protect it from the oncoming horde, the waters consume all that is left on the land. In doing so the Creator forgives the watchers that have aided Noah and as each one falls they ascend into Heaven on a shaft of light (below right).
As the flood drowns the remaining humans Tubal-Cain manages to stow away on the Ark, but is found by Ham and befriends him, playing on his anger towards his father for allowing the girl Na'el to die.

Blinded by Zeal
As the storm intensifies and the Ark is launched across what has now become an ocean, Ila eventually discovers that she is pregnant, and soon after the rains stop completely. Naameh, Shem, and Ila inform Noah of this, but the ‘patriarch’ says that if the child is a girl he will kill her to satisfy the Creator's wish to destroy all humanity. Noah asks for the Creator's counsel but finds no answer. He resolves to follow his plan, despite Naameh's unsuccessful attempts to dissuade him. Noah is blinded by his own Zeal and drive to fulfill 'Gods' wishes.
Father of the new Ark of the Covenant
Months pass, and Ila and Shem build a small raft to escape Noah, but Noah burns it just as they prepare to leave. Ila goes into labour and Tubal-Cain is able to convince Ham to help kill Noah, who does not wish for humanity to be wiped out.

Noah is lured by Ham to the aft of the ark on false pretences, where he is attacked by Tubal-Cain. As the two fight, the Ark hits a mountain, injuring both men. As Noah is about to finish Tubal-Cain he is attacked by Shem, which in turns allows Tubal-Cain to recover and throws Shem back, desiring to kill Noah himself, but he is turn attacked and killed by a repentant Ham. It’s all the fun of the Ark. With his final breath the king proudly proclaims Ham a man and passes him the snakeskin that he took from Lamech all those years ago.
As the family departs the Ark, Ham decides to leave them all, still angry with his father. Ila asks Noah why he didn't kill his grandchildren and Noah says that in that moment, he had nothing in his heart but love for them. Later, the family stands atop a cliff face, and Noah blesses them all (below) as the beginning of a new human race and Ila makes him realize that God had left humanity's fate in his hands. They watch as the Creator sends a rainbow from the sky, covering all of the Earth, signalling his promise to never destroy mankind with a flood again.
The Emergence and the Post-Flood World
The movie and Biblical texts fail to mention that according to the translations of the Sumerian tablets the ‘Anunnaki gods’ who were said to have caused the devastation, left the planet only to come back later to repopulate the new surface world. Some researchers that have studied the Sumerian tablets say that the only ones to survive the catastrophe were the ‘extraterrestrials’ with the technology (the Ark) and foresight, perhaps prior warning, and therefore left before the deluge hit. Maybe they caused it, maybe they knew how to get advance warning, or maybe none of it happened?
My image below shows the Moon moving into the Earth’s magnetic sphere causing what we would experience as a monumental deluge. Did those that moved the Moon (Ark) both cause and therefore bring forth the ‘new life’ as an ‘Ark of the Covenant’. Was the Ark really built of wood to re-populate the ‘whole of the Earth's animal species’, I don't think so!  Or was the Ark, if it existed, made of something else? Was it the Moon itself? There’s a whole new movie in the making there for future generations ponder on? As I’ve commented on before, places such as the Grand Canyon, in my view, were not created through natural erosion, but instead, some kind of major catastrophic earth changing event - an event that must have turned the world upside down.
The Earth shift, the Moon ark and the deluge
The deluge was a 'global phenomena' recorded on all continents, and if the evidence suggests that such an event occurred, I doubt that Noah and his offspring where the only ones around after the event. Certain tribes people, ancient communities could have sheltered deep underground or in the mountain ranges above the flood water which, according to some studies, could have reached heights of 10, 000 feet.
Created by a river? I don’t think so, more like a deluge or something bigger (see above image).
The Earth is riddled with tunnels and caverns, natural and created, which date back into far ancient times. Many of these have been located, including an underground city that could house a population of thousands in Cappadocia, Turkey, one of the centers of the Phoenicians and the origin of George of Cappadocia (St George). Thirty-six underground cities have been discovered in Cappadocia so far and some are huge complexes going down eight levels. The ventilation systems are so efficient that even eight floors down the air is still fresh. Other vast underground cities and tunnel complexes have also been found near Derinkuya in Turkey as well, not to mention the similar tunnels in South America and on other continents. Many incredible detailed connections made by authors Graham Hancock, Andrew Collins and Hugh Newman, between the megalithic sites of Göbekli Tepe in Turkey, places like Sacsayhuaman in Peru and Tiwnaka in Bolivia, suggest that the same people built these sites.
The flood and the need to survive it, ensured that agriculture in the post-flood world began at altitudes above 10,000 feet. Not, as you would expect, in the fertile lower plains we see today. One study by the botanist, Nikolai Ivanovitch Vavilov, revealed that the 50,000 wild plants he examined from around the world originated in only eight areas – all of them mountainous. Here we have the symbolism of the ‘mountain’ in religious texts and narratives once again as the harbinger of civilization.
The ancient city of Cutal Hüyük in central Turkey, (a place where the 'two horned' clan was worshiped through the Bull in the Age of Taurus), is another example of an already sophisticated civilization that flourished around 7000BC. The Machu Picchu site, which I have had the privilege of visiting, is built on and around mountains at very high altitudes that hold religious importance in the Inca culture and in the previous culture that occupied the land.
Great books for anyone interested in the subject
When we consider the influx of advanced knowledge in places like Ancient Egypt and Central and South America too, it is absurd to believe that these sophisticated cultures suddenly appeared from ‘nowhere’. Yet a cataclysmic flood might suggest that these civilisations were merely carriers of an advanced knowledge once held on an earlier land now lost beneath the waters? Survivors of this famous inundation could have fled, each carrying a story of disaster with them, which would have entered the oral tradition in the countries of refuge. Eventually the tales of a lost civilisation and its reason for demise would have reached the likes of Plato in Ancient Greece, who talked and wrote of nothing else. As Michael Baigent says of places like Cutal Hüyük in his book Ancient Traces:

“This highly sophisticated culture suddenly erupted upon fertile highland plains as though transported mysteriously from elsewhere.”

Worthy of note is the synchronicity of the Hindu, Egyptian and Babylonian calendars which all commence a new cycle from a point of 11500 to 11000 BC. At the same time these dates also correspond closely to the melting of the last glaciers 12,000 years ago, which could have quite easily caused a flood of that magnitude. Egyptian historians also say that the legendary Reign of the Gods commenced 10,000 years ago. At this time it is said that the god Thoth arrived in the Nile Delta bringing to Egypt the knowledge of art and hieroglyphics, which must have already been a product of an earlier, advanced civilisation.*

DNA Moon Ark
Was our DNA created on the Ark and brought back to Earth by those that have given us our 'mind-sets', our programming, the original Adam and Eve blueprint? What if Eden was a place inside the Moon, the place where the first 'homo-sapien' prototype was produced under laboratory conditions? I am just throwing out ideas here folks, in the nuthouse we call 'life on Earth'. If that sounds mad, then consider that scientists have now confirmed that a watery ‘life supporting’ ocean deep under the icy surface of Saturn’s moon Enceladus is capable of harboring life, what else is there to know about the nature and composition of what we perceive to be 'dead satelites'. According to NASA the ocean on Enceladus is buried beneath 18 to 24 miles (29 to 39km) of ice and could be larger than Lake Superior, the biggest of North America’s Great Lakes.
Slightly smaller than our Moon, Europa is another ‘satellite’ (one of four Galilean satellites of Jupiter) that could support life. I wont go into the Symbolism of Europa, Ganymede and Jupiter in this review, but suffice to say that these ‘moons’ are now recognized as celestial bodies that ‘could’ support life. According to NASA nineteen moons in the Solar System are large enough to have achieved hydrostatic equilibrium, and thus would be considered planets or dwarf planets if they were in direct orbit around the Sun. What if Saturn and Jupiter were ‘dwarf stars’, or ‘Suns no more’? At what point do large moons stop being perceived as ‘moons’ and are seen as ‘other worlds’ – ‘planets’? And with that question, what if 'other intelligent life forms' 'seeded life' on this planet?
There is much more to know about our Moon (all moons) when it comes to harboring life (DNA), as we shall ultimately see eventually.

Two by Two - Double Helix
People who have read papers by molecular biologist, Francis Crick, said, that he believed that DNA was pre-programmed. We often hear it said that Crick and his associates ‘discovered DNA’; but what became known as deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) was first discovered by Johann Friedrich Miescher in 1869. Crick, James Watson and Maurice Wilkins were given the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 1962 for ‘their discoveries concerning the molecular structure of nucleic acids and its significance for information transfer in living material’. When we look at the Sumerian drawings of the double serpent (double helix) flanked by otherworldly winged entities, we have to acknowledge that the ancients were telling us something about the source of our DNA.
The human genetically modified prototype, made by ET's for ET's and our Junk DNA holds all the clues, me thinks. Why did the Neanderthal species disappear so abruptly? Were they 'removed' by something that wanted a different prototype populating the new world? It is said that the Neanderthal cranial capacity is thought to have been as large as that of a Homo sapiens, perhaps larger, indicating that their brain size may have been comparable, or larger, as well. In 2008, a group of scientists created a study using three-dimensional computer-assisted reconstructions of Neanderthal infants based on fossils found in Russia and Syria. The study showed Neanderthal and modern human brains were the same size at birth, but by adulthood, the Neanderthal brain was larger than the modern human brain. My feeling is that Neanderthal's wouldn't have worked 9 til 5, or voted so well, if they had been allowed to continue.
Several movies that show the Moon, ET, Creation themes
I feel that the ancient references to the flood and animal-human hybrid gods found in world mythology, relate to untapped levels of DNA. Other myths and legends seem to be telling us about parts of our consciousness that dwells in what the ancients call the Dreamtime. Artists and shamans (same thing) that go within themselves to tap into the visionary capabilities often depicted animal-human deities and dream landscapes. All of these art forms speak of a time ‘before time’ and the places where reality is imagined into existence, before it manifests as physical form. As one Native American belief states:

“ In the beginning of all things, wisdom and knowledge were with the animals, for Tirawa, the One Above, did not speak directly to man. he sent certain animals to tell men that he showed himself through the beasts, and that from them, and from the stars and the sun and the moon should man learn...”

Were these 'species' removed by an alien force, through several stages (including a Flood) wishing to dominate a New Earth with its own genetically modified crop of humans, who knows?

Moon Sin
But I would say that 'Original Sin' and the story of Adam and Eve along with the myths relating to the ‘fall of man’, relate to the prototype and precursor for a 'slave race' that fully receives the Moon frequency broadcasts via it's DNA. We receive and transmit through our DNA waveform information and we decode this into a world we ‘think’ we see (or perceive). Our perceptions and behaviors that we think are ‘ours’ are part of this ‘decoding process’ that writers like David Icke have called ‘the hack’ or the ‘Saturn-Moon Matrix’. We can be completely controlled by the 'Matrix mind' (the hive-mind) and therefore be no more than human robots responding to data input/information, or we can ‘open our hearts’ and ‘minds’ and see beyond the deception that started in Eden.
Our DNA (programming) matched to the new world ‘birthed by the Moon Ark’ now anchored on Earth. The bloodline of Noah now runs the banks, political structures, etc, which keep us going around the ‘board of life’ (Moonopoly). Did I say bored with life?
According to the European Space Agency, if the human species should be destroyed on Earth (as in the Noah story), our future may reside on the Moon in what they have termed the ‘Doomsday ark’. The Ark will contain the essentials of life and human civilization, to be activated in the event of earth being devastated by a giant asteroid or nuclear war.  Do they know something we don’t eh? See my review of Elysium here.
In another of Aronofsky’s movies The Fountain (above left), Hugh Jackman plays a man through the ages: first as a conquistador in Spain searching for the Fountain of Youth, then as a brilliant young neuroscientist looking for a cure for cancer in modern day New York, and then as a space traveler intersecting with a distant, exploding star in the deep future. And while, on a superficial level, the two movies Noah and The Fountain might not have much in common, they are inexorably linked. The Fountain has biblical underpinnings (it opens with a phrase from Genesis 3:24, “After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.”

The 'flaming sword' on one level is the 'knowledge and power' that has kept us from going back to our original state, our true power. The word 'sword' in the original Hebrew is 'chereb' from the root word 'charab', and flaming from the word 'lahahh': 'a supernatural weapon which could bring swift and deadly destruction, or defined as a fire, magic or enchantment that consumes, encircles or wraps up something. The meaning here is a reminder of both the child and the 'rebel angel' within us all.
Breaking through the 'fire form' the 'flaming sword' and returning to the innocence of a higher state of awareness in the movie The Fountain
Both movies that show the interdimensional quality and the fragility, finite experience of the human spirit.
In Aronofsky’s Noah we have a man who has deeply ‘cosmic concerns’, to the point of ‘zeal’ and blindness to the nature and fragility of humanity. And at the heart of both movies are men who are single-mindedly obsessed, to the point that their ‘moon-omania’ has the chance to ‘reroute’ human history. A cure for cancer to the obliteration of humanity that is ‘seen as a cancer’ (at the time of Noah), for some, ‘obsession’ isn't a neurotic character flaw; it's a vital trait that could end up saving humanity. It's time to become more 'obsessed' with the issues that are killing humanity, don't you think?

As the line in the movie Noah said:

Ila: This is the end of everything!
Noah: The beginning! The beginning of everything!

Until next time round
Neil

A very funny clip by the comedian Ricky Gevias on Noah.
